Time of Reflection Quotations
“One design you are to pursue to the end of time – the enjoyment of God in time and in eternity. Desire other things so far as they tend to this; love the creature, as it leads to the Creator. But in every step you take, be this the glorious point that terminates your view. Let every affection, and thought and word, and action, be subordinate to this. Whatever you desire or fear, whatever you seek or shun, whatever you think, speak, or do, be it in order to your happiness in God, the sole end, as well as source, of your being.”
~ John Wesley (1703-1791), English minister and evangelist
“When I see Thee as Thou art, I’ll praise Thee as I ought.”
~ John Newton (1725-1807), English minister and writer
“Praise is the honey of life which a devout heart extracts from every bloom of providence and grace.”
~ C.H. Spurgeon (1834 – 1892), British pastor and author
“I have learned that in every circumstance that comes my way, I can choose to respond in one of two ways: I can whine or I can worship! And I can’t worship without giving thanks. It just isn’t possible. When we choose the pathway of worship and giving thanks, especially in the midst of difficult circumstances, there is a fragrance, a radiance, that issues forth out of our lives to bless the Lord and others.”
~ Nancy Leigh DeMoss (1958-present), modern speaker and author
“The greater part of the truth is always hidden, in regions out of the reach of cynicism.”
~ J.R.R. Tolkien (1892-1973), English writer and philologist
“Gratitude in its deepest sense means to live life as a gift to be received thankfully. And true gratitude embraces all of life: the good and the bad, the joyful and the painful, the holy and the not-so-holy. We do this because we become aware of God’s life, God’s presence in the middle of all that happens.”
~ Henri Nouwen (1932–1996), Dutch Catholic priest and professor

Psalm 150 (ESV)
1 Praise the LORD!
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens!
2 Praise him for his mighty deeds;
praise him according to his excellent greatness!
3 Praise him with trumpet sound;
praise him with lute and harp!
4 Praise him with tambourine and dance;
praise him with strings and pipe!
5 Praise him with sounding cymbals;
praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD!
