The word “gospel” is thrown around as jargon in many Christian circles. But what exactly does it mean and what exactly does it do?
For many the gospel of Christ is simply the most basic Christian truth—the first thing we must believe in order to enter the Christian life. However, this does not do justice to the richness, the breath and depth, with which the New Testament speaks. The gospel of Christ is not merely the doorway through which we enter the Christian life, but it is a window through which we see all of life. It is the “good news” that transforms not only our hearts but also the entire world.
The goal of this brief series is to think through the implications of the gospel as it pertains to God, the world, others, and ourselves.
